NEW: Updating your Blackboard Profile 

The Blackboard Profile in clickUP gives you an identity in the learning environment and enables you to learn more about your academic network. Your profile will be displayed in all the Tools where your name will be displayed, e.g. Discussions, Blogs, Roster, etc. Take note: You have to change your Profile Settings. The profile could be set to Private, Visible to your school only (i.e. all other students studying at the University of Pretoria) OR public - to all institutions world wide who uses Blackboard. 

Please read these guidelines. Spaces may support your social learning needs. Please use other social media if you have non learning specific social needs!

You can edit your personal information and settings from the user menu in the global navigation.

Tests are used to assess your mastery over course content and objectives.  Your instructor assigns point values to questions in the test. Your answers are submitted for grading, and the results are recorded in the Grade Center.

In order for UP to communicate with students, your email address has been captured on the PeopleSoft system when you registered as a NEW student at UP.

If you are an OLD UP Student who registered after 2005, then you would have recieved a email address. This is the email address that UP will then use to communicate with you. If you do not want to login to the email to read the communication, then you have to setup the Mail Forwarding.

Depending on the kind of student you are, you will have to set it up in different places. Take the following steps:

  1. Login to clickUP
  2. Verify what is you email notification address
  3. Update email address:
  4. Update email address: student center

If you need to change the email address OR forward the address (in the case of, then follow these steps.

If you do not receive email notifications after you changed the address or added a forwarding address, please contact the IT Student Help desk to assist you.  They are located in the open labs on campus OR contact them at 012-420 3837 ORhelp

The Send Email tool in a course is a send-only tool. You can send messages from your course to course members' external email accounts without having to launch your external email program, such as Gmail or Yahoo. You can send emails to individual users or to groups of users.

For example, if your school has licensed the content management capability, you will see a Content Collection tab.
